Annaré on East Horsley’s Bishopsmead Parade
This month’s ‘Spotlight on …’ feature comes courtesy of Natasha Sanchez, our Cobham office’s Assistant Lettings Manager, who, as a West Horsley resident is shining a light on West and East Horsley. Read on to discover her favourite hotspots and find out why she thinks Horsley is a great place to live.
For a drink I love going to …
Well, we’re lucky enough to have three pubs in The Horsleys that we can pop into for a drink and I have been known to frequent them all, but my favourite has to be the newly renovated King William IV. The garden was a great place to watch the Euros and Olympics on the big screen, and the pub now has an outside cinema. They also have regular live music and quiz nights, too.
My favourite restaurant for brunch or lunch is …
Annare on Bishopsmead Parade. Rita, the bubbly owner, cooks up a storm of Italian delights and British classics. If you’re ever having a dinner party you can take a dish to Rita and she’ll make you something delicious you can then bake at home and take the credit for. It’s hard to leave without some sweet treat for your afternoon cuppa.
When it comes to getting out and about …
I like to go for a long walk with my dog, Marley, in Hatchlands Park, which sits between West Horsley and Clandon. Visit in April or May and make sure you take the path up and through the beautiful bluebell woods. If you’ve got little ones, make sure to take a picnic and find your way to Wizard Wix's Willow Warren.
Horsley’s hidden gem is …
F. Conisbee & Son, our local family-run butcher, which farms their animals nearby in Polesden Lacey. A few favourites of mine include their chilli, venison burgers and chicken kievs.
The best thing about Horsley is …
The number of beautiful walks to enjoy. The woodland behind Horsley Tennis Club takes you over to Effingham Common. Park at St Mary’s Church car park and walk up Sheepleas to the viewpoint. On a clear day you have views over to London.
